The Volvo V70 gets a bit of added butch with the launch of the V70 R-Design
The last news we had from Volvo was that the S60 & XC60 R-Design were going to get more get up and go. Sadly, the extra oomph was reserved for the US. Today’s news, however, applies to Volvos on both sides of the Pond, with a new top-end S80 being revealed – the Volvo S80 Executive – and a butch take on the V70 – the Volvo V70 R-Design.
This is the new Ford Fiesta ST, just unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. It’s just a concet car for now, but we know a production version of the new Ford Fiesta ST will be revealed at the 2012 Geneva motor show, and that sales will start in the UK in time for next September’s plate change. It’s the same format Ford followed with the Focus ST, revealing a near-production concept at the 2010 Paris motor show, and then pulling the wraps off the real thing last night.
World Touring Car outfit Arena has launched the Ford Focus WTCC Edition with a Mountune performance upgrade offering 200bhp. In fact, the Focus WTCC Edition is a warmed-over Focus 1.6 Zetec S which has been given a performance upgrade by Mountune (Ford’s tuner of choice and the same firm that delivered the power upgrade for the old Focus RS500) which means a jump from the 179bhp of the 1.6 Zetec S to 200bhp. Also in the mix to go with the extra power is a set of Team Dynamics Pro race alloys, a Mountune short-throw gear selector and a stainless steel Powerflow exhaust.
